Laura Zeck

Laura first learned of printmaking in the 3rd grade during a field day at her elementary school. She thought it looked very dirty. It wasn't until she was attending art school that she came to see the beauty in the messiness, and she's been hooked ever since. After receiving her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA from the University of Washington, Laura has held positions as an art instructor, a waitress, a writer, and a producer/art director, in addition to her work as an artist. She is also the Co-Director of Art with Heart, a community outreach program focusing on at-risk youth. Laura's work has been shown in many galleries, is included in both public and private collections, and was recently on exhibit at the Portland Art Museum.

You can see more of Laura's work, including the fabulous Short Stories etchings series, on her website at www.laurazeck.com.
